Playing Disc Golf

Mind is All
Playing disc golf is one of the most fun ways to get outside on a nice day and enjoy the outdoors. You can play disc golf alone or in groups, and it is a relaxing and inexpensive sport that you will be able to find courses for in most cities.

The basics of disc golf are really quite simple, as it is played in much the same manner as regular golf. Eighteen "holes" make up a disc golf course, and each of these holes has a "par" assigned to it, depending on how difficult it is. You begin a hole by throwing a frisbee down a fairway, and you finish a hole by trying to toss your frisbee into the receptacle at the end. You will keep track of your score in disc golf the same way you do in regular golf - marking how many over or under par you are for each hole throughout the course.

When it comes to disc golf, one of the great things is that - even though you might not become a master of the sport for a while - you can become adequate at disc golf really quickly. Another great thing, when it comes to disc golf, is the fact that the initial investment is not much, and you can usually play for free.

When you go to a park where disc golf is played, you will probably see someone with a huge bag packed full of frisbees. Even though there are countless frisbees for countless unique purposes, there is no reason to start out with such a large collection! The main things you will need - when you first get started - is a "driver," a mid-range frisbee, and a "putter." With the driver, you will be able to throw the frisbee a long way down the fairway; with the mid-range frisbee, you will be able to hit your "approach" shots; with your putter, you will have a heavier frisbee that is good for when you are up close trying to finish off a hole.

Once you have this basic equipment, you can grab a water bottle and hit the disc golf course; within no time, you'll be playing well and enjoying the outdoors!
