Getting Your Kids To Play Outside
If you think back to the days when you were growing up, you likely have fond memories of playing outdoors until your parents forced you to come in. In the fall, you played outdoors in the leaves; in the winter, you enjoyed the snow; in the spring and summer, you enjoyed the long days that allowed you to play whatever your imagination came up with! These times spent outdoors may have been shared with your siblings, or perhaps you shared them with other kids who lived in your neighborhood. And all the way until dark, you would play sports or play make believe with these siblings and friends. Nowadays, however, it seems like many kids never set foot outdoors except to wait for the school bus in the mornings. The rest of the time when they are not in school, they are watching television or playing video games or playing around on a computer. While all these things are fine in moderation, it is also important for children to play outside; this will increase their health, will strengthen their mind, and will cut down on the prevalence of childhood obesity. If your goal is to encourage your own children to begin to play outside, here are a few things you can try doing.
One of the things that is important for you to recognize is the fact that most children do not want to be "told" what to do; do not "force" your children to play outside, as they will then be less likely to enjoy it. What you should do instead is create opportunities for your children to "discover" the joys of playing outdoors. There are a couple ways by which this can be effectively accomplished: 1) Put a limit on how much "media time" they are allowed each day; 2) Take some time to play outside with them!
As you limit the amount of time they are allowed to spend with video games, television, and computer each day, they will begin to naturally fill their extra time with time outdoors! And if you go outside and play with your children a few times, it will further draw them out of the house and help them get started. There are some children who will take to the outdoors quite naturally and automatically; but even if this is not the case with your children, do not despair - as you follow these tips, your children will begin to play outside more and more.
A Look At Great Ways To Get Sunlight And Exercise
Mind is AllTwo of the most important things you can give your body are sunlight and exercise, as each of these will go a long way in keeping your body healthy in both the present and the long run, but one problem with trying to get these two things is that most of us are "too busy" to try to squeeze in both; for this reason, it is beneficial to know some things you can do to get sunlight and exercise at the same time! Swimming is perhaps the best "total body workout" of all, as it is easy on the joints and the spine while also working out every part of your body (not to mention the fact that it can also be extremely enjoyable!); of course, most people these days think of swimming at their gym, where they swim indoors, but while this is good for your body, it does not give you that sunlight that is also so important - so if you have access to a pool during the summer, you should also do what you can to get in some swimming outdoors! Walking is another great way to keep your body in shape, but a lot of people neglect walking because of the fact that it is so easy it seems like there is no way it could really be a good workout; realize, however, that walking is a great way to keep your muscles moving and to keep your blood flowing - and it is easy to do even in small bursts (during your lunch hour, for instance), and it is a great way to get sunlight. And in the winter, one of the best ways to give your body a great workout while also getting some sunlight and having fun is by skiing; of course, not everyone lives close enough to a ski resort to ski regularly, but if you do live near a place where you can ski, try to find some used skis at a good price, and buy a season pass to the mountain so you can ski a few runs every week - and watch as your body tones up, and as that sunlight continues to make you feel better! It is important to look for different ways to stay in shape, but as you look for different ways, make sure you are also looking for ways that will enable you to get sunlight as well; in this way, you can stay fit and healthy all at the same time!

Fitting Exercise Into Your Busy Schedule
Every week you swear you're going to exercise, but your busy schedule crowds out the possibility? If you let go of the expectation that "working out" means spending all your evenings at the fitness center, you'll find inventive ways to get in all the exercise you need. Make the most of your lunch hours. Schedule lunches far away from your desk. Spend a good part of your lunch break walking to and from your lunch designation, making the trek as challenging as possible and inviting coworkers to join you if you must work over lunch. Commit yourself to at least ten minutes a day exercising. Make ten minutes of exercise--sit ups, planks, push ups, squats--a part of your bedtime routine. Sacrifice two mornings (or late nights) a week. Yes, you have to work a full day, but you can sacrifice sleep for exercise--which will energize you--two days a week. Just as some people consider going to religious services as non-negotiable, treat these two days as such and carve out some precious time that cannot be touched by anyone. Make these two days your precious workout days, where you push yourself the hardest and get the most out of your fitness plan. Think of ways to make chores and errands more physically challenging. Make yourself walk as much as possible while running errands (park far away, make yourself walk fast) and turn the loading and unloading of bags into a workout by bending your knees, lifting them high, etc. You can do the same with household chores. Use your whole body as you vacuum, push your arm muscles as your scrub, and do squats while folding laundry. Make sure your relaxation times are also active. Instead of reading, meet a friend for a hike. Instead of surfing the web, do something outside. Choose to do something athletic instead of something sedentary. By thinking outside of the box, you can fit exercise into even the busiest of schedules.
Keeping Your Mouth Healthy
Mind is AllMost people have no real problem remembering to make sure they are staying healthy, but they often forget to also think about the fact that keeping their mouth healthy is as important as keeping any other part of their body healthy - and on top of that, keeping a mouth healthy is even easier than keeping a body healthy, as long as you know what to do, and as long as you stick to what you should do! The foundation of keeping your mouth healthy will be that you brush your teeth after every meal (not just at the beginning and end of each day!); when food sits on your teeth for long periods of time, it does damage to your teeth, but by brushing after each meal, you will be able to get rid of this food long before it has a chance to hurt your teeth in any way. Some people feel that it is immeasurably difficult to start flossing, as it seems like an uncomfortable and - quite frankly - unnecessary thing to do, but you should also realize how important flossing is if you want to keep your mouth as healthy as it should be; in the same way that you will want to brush your teeth frequently to keep food from sitting on your teeth, you will want to floss at least twice each day, as this will keep the food that lodges itself between your teeth from sitting there against your gums and between your teeth for long periods of time. And of course, you will want to do all the "extra" things if you want to keep a healthy mouth as well, making sure you are using mouthwash to kill the germs that can damage your mouth, and using a tongue scraper to get rid of all the excess stuff that sits on your tongue. When you take the time to do all these things - and when you also watch what you are eating, and avoid putting too much sugar an other harmful foods into your mouth - you will be able to ensure that you have fresh breath and (more importantly!) a healthy mouth, one that will remain healthy for years and years to come.

Comparing Three Energy-Boost Drinks
If you have ever indulged in an energy drink, or in any type of drink designed to keep you awake, you have probably realized that there are lots of different options – and if you do not know what you are looking for, or if you do not drink such drinks regularly, it can be difficult to know exactly what you should purchase. Of course, each type of drink induces a different reaction in each different person, but here is a breakdown of three of the more popular choices for energy inducing beverages, and how each beverage generally affects those who drink them. Red Bull: Red Bull is not only one of the most popular energy drinks, but it is also one of the most well-known; if you are looking for a sharp jolt of energy, Red Bull is one of the best options – but beware, as Red Bull might also make you crash when it wears off, and it is more likely to wake up your body than it is to wake up your mind. Coffee: For people who drink coffee regularly, it tends to help them stay awake, but if you do not usually drink coffee, your body might react differently; for many people who are not typically coffee drinkers, coffee will keep them from falling asleep, but it will not necessarily make them feel more awake – which is often not what you are looking for when you are in need of an energy drink. Five Hour Energy: 5 Hour Energy has become one of the most popular choices over the last five years as far as energy drinks go, as it claims to give you energy without giving you a crash; while this is usually true, most people also find that 5 Hour Energy does not wake up their body as much as it wakes up their mind, so if it is your body that is feeling tired, you might want to look elsewhere. Taking the time to try different energy drinks is the best way to choose the drink that works best for you in the long run, but if you are needing an energy boost right away, let this guide lead you to the option that is most likely to be right for you.
Tips For Keeping Your Head From Itching
Mind is AllThere are certainly things in life that are more annoying than an itchy head, but the list is not a long one, as an itchy head can make your entire day feel like a chore to get through! And even though a lot of people are under the impression that an itchy head simply means someone does not wash their hair enough, this is rarely the case; some people are more susceptible than others to ending up with dandruff or with an itchy head, and the keys to getting rid of this problem are more complicated than simply washing your hair more often. Of course, how often you deal with an itchy head will certainly be influenced by how often you wash your hair, but it is by no means the only determining factor; also, if you wash your hair regularly and still deal with an itchy scalp, you might want to consider switching to a different shampoo, as your scalp may have become immune to the one you are using! Another thing that will cause you to have an itchy head more often is wearing a hat all the time; unless you work a job that requires you to wear a hat, you should make sure you are limiting your “hat wearing,” especially if you have been dealing with an itchy scalp! What you are putting into your hair will also make a big difference in how your scalp feels; if you put gel or hairspray in your hair every day, and you deal with an itchy scalp every day in spite of shampooing frequently, there is a good chance that what you are using does not agree with your scalp, and you should try switching to something different. When you are dealing with an itchy scalp, make sure you do not scratch at it, as this will only make things worse; instead, you should leave it alone and wash your hair as soon as you can, and then you should start following these steps until you get rid of the problem once and for all!

Getting Refreshing Fresh Air
Getting a bit of sunlight and fresh air every day (or, if you are stuck in an office all day and do not have enough time during lunch to get sunlight and fresh air, at least getting some on weekends) is one of the most important things you can do in order to keep your body healthy, but one of the reasons many people fail to get the sunlight and fresh air they need is because they make it feel like a chore. In order to keep your quota of sunlight and fresh air from feeling like a chore that you have to accomplish, it will help you to find a way to get fresh air in a refreshing and relaxing manner. It is certainly good for you to jog every day, but it is even better when you jog away from the city instead of jogging on an indoor track or along a sidewalk; look for a pretty jogging trail away from the city, and try to visit it a few days a week for a walk or jog. When you spend time hiking in the forest, this will also be a great way for you to get the fresh air that you need; even though you are unlikely to get as much sunlight by hiking in the forest as you might while participating in other activities, you will get plenty of refreshing fresh air, and plenty of relaxing time in nature. But also, getting this refreshing fresh air is not all about exerting yourself physically; one of the best ways of all to relax and unwind completely while also getting some fresh air into your body is to simply sit outside in a quiet spot as you "do nothing" - pack a picnic, or bring a fishing pole with you, and find a meadow or a lake you can spend some time by, being quiet and doing nothing. When you start to look for ways to get refreshing fresh air, you will find that your body rewards you by feeling much better, and your mind will reward you in the exact same way, feeling more relaxed and more permanently at ease.
