Tips For Strengthening Your Core

When it comes to working out, there are typically two primary benefits - firstly, working out will make you look good, and secondly, you will be promoting health in your body when you work out; when it comes to these dual benefits, there is really no form of working out that does more to improve the way you look and to (more importantly!) promote health in your body than working out your core - and for this reason, it is valuable to know a few easy ways by which you can do this.

The thing about working out your core that is especially great is the fact that there are some very easy ways to do this, and the easiest way of all is by simply walking; when you walk - especially when you walk long distances - you will be causing your abs and your back to tighten and strengthen, and what's more, it will never be one of those things that is "too difficult" for you to bring yourself to do it!

Of course (on top of this "easy" way of targeting your core as a byproduct of other activity), it is also possible for you to target your core on purpose with exercises that hone in on this area, such as crunches and sit-ups; in addition to these exercises that are intended for your core, you can also engage in pushups and pull-ups, as these will strengthen your core as well!

And actually, one of the easiest ways of all to strengthen your core is by simply tightening it throughout the day; as you drive, as you sit in your chair at work, and as you do just about anything else, you can tighten up your abs, and will eventually begin to see some serious results!

The more you make your core a focus, the easier it will be for you improve your core - and the more you improve your core, the more you will be able to enjoy the good looks and the health benefits that come as a result!

Comparing Three Energy-Boost Drinks

Mind is All
If you have ever indulged in an energy drink, or in any type of drink designed to keep you awake, you have probably realized that there are lots of different options – and if you do not know what you are looking for, or if you do not drink such drinks regularly, it can be difficult to know exactly what you should purchase. Of course, the reaction each individual person will have to each different drink will be unique unto their own self, but here is a breakdown of three of the more popular choices for energy inducing beverages, and how each beverage generally affects those who drink them.

Red Bull: One of the most well-known (and most popular) energy drinks on the market is Red Bull; if you are looking for a sharp jolt of energy, Red Bull is one of the best options – but beware, as Red Bull might also make you crash when it wears off, and it is more likely to wake up your body than it is to wake up your mind.

Coffee: coffee tends to help most coffee drinkers to stay awake, but if you do not usually drink coffee, your body might react differently; for many people who are not typically coffee drinkers, coffee will keep them from falling asleep, but it will not necessarily make them feel more awake – which is often not what you are looking for when you are in need of an energy drink.

Five Hour Energy: 5 Hour Energy has become one of the most popular choices over the last five years as far as energy drinks go, as it claims to give you energy without giving you a crash; while this is usually true, most people also find that 5 Hour Energy does not wake up their body as much as it wakes up their mind, so if it is your body that is feeling tired, you might want to look elsewhere.

Taking the time to try different energy drinks is the best way to choose the drink that works best for you in the long run, but if you are needing an energy boost right away, let this guide lead you to the option that is most likely to be right for you.

A Simple Tool to Help Prevent Injuries

Sports today are filled with many issues, but one of the biggest is concussions. Almost every sport that is played has issues with concussions. Football and hockey are two sports that involve high speed contact and their players are at the largest risk. The constant high speed contact that occurs means that body parts are absorbing tremendous amounts of force. They are seen even in traditionally low contact sports too though. In baseball a concussion was suffered by Justin Morneau when he slid into a players knee at second base during a game.

A concussion is a very serious injury. It results from the brain being rattled around inside of someone’s skull. When the injury initially occurs it is not uncommon to see the injured lose their consciousness. After the fact a concussion can have even more serious effects. The feeling of being stuck in a fog is often the way those who suffer from concussions describe it. They cannot drive and are forced to spend most of their days relatively sedentary. For such a large dilemma there is very little known about concussions.

A tried and true way of lowering the risk of a concussion is by using a mouth guard during athletic activity. Shock Doctor is a company that makes many athletic items, but one of their best is their gel strapless mouth guard designed to prevent concussions. A mouth guard can help you emerge from an impact relatively unhurt instead of suffering a concussion during it. The mouth guard also has a breathing channel making breathing easy during activity.

It is very dangerous to play sports without using any type of mouth guard. In order to make sure that you do not suffer from a concussion or many other injuries to the teeth they need to be used. Shock Doctor has used the extensive research available to craft a mouth guard that is very efficient at reducing concussions. If you want to match the uniform you are wearing they are even available in many colors.

Taking Care Of Your Mouth, Beyond Just The Way It Looks

Mind is All
People spend a lot of time worrying about the way their teeth look in a cosmetic sense, without worrying nearly as much as they should about the way their teeth would look to a dentist, but while cosmetic care of teeth will certainly lend cosmetic benefits in the short term, taking care of your teeth beyond cosmetics will lend cosmetic and health benefits in the long run! Of course, there is certainly nothing wrong with taking care of the way your teeth look, but it is far better (and far more important!) for you to take care of the way your teeth would look if a dentist were to check out your mouth.

Of course, brushing is an important part of taking care of your mouth, but while most people know this, many of them fail to brush their teeth nearly as often as they should; brushing in the morning and at night are great, but you should get into the habit of brushing after every meal as well, as this will clear all that extra food off the surface of your teeth.

Another thing that will be beneficial is that you use mouthwash, as there are a lot of germs in your mouth that cannot be killed by simply brushing, but that can be killed by using mouthwash; even though mouthwash sometimes feels uncomfortable in the mouth, you should try to get into the habit of using it after you brush your teeth at home in the morning and at night.

And of course, there are pieces of food that get lodged down in your gums, where neither a toothbrush nor mouthwash will be able to do anything, which is why using floss on a regular basis is so important; even though floss can seem unwieldy and odd at first, get into the habit of using it, and your mouth will reward you by staying healthy for a long time to come.

By keeping all three of these things in mind, you will not only have a mouth that looks good right now, but you will also have a mouth that continues to look good for years and years.

Keeping your normal to dry skin blemish free

Skincare can be a mystifing world, but fret not -- here are some great tips revealed. Saving money and keeping your normal to dry skin healthy and clear of breakouts is possible with this supreme mix of products.  You need to begin with a morning/shower cleanser. Aveeno Clear Complexion Cleanser is the best exfoliating, softening cleanser that matches your skin type. It is a fresh and easy cream cleanser that exfoliates and treats your skin gently. It's a great way to start your day; it will give you a clean beginning, and it treats your skin to fight blemishes all day. With a two percent salicylic acid content, it is an effective but mild treatment for keeping your skin blemish free. Following your exfoliating wash, you should use the Aveeno Clear Complexion Lotion. It comes in a convenient pump bottle that works just like standard hand soaps.

Just be careful not to use too much because if you do, the lotion will start to get chunky as you try to rub the excess in. The lotion has a low percentage of salicylic acid as well so it keeps fighting potential breakouts all day long. If you have some persistent pimples every now and then, you can use
Neutrogena On the Spot Acne Treatment to treat and clear. It leaves the skin soft, but clears zits fast. The tube is small but the cream lasts far a long time so you won't need to buy it again and again. When the day ends and your skin needs an effective, fast cleaning, there are two great options. If you hate oily eye make up removers and need a sensitive cleaner, use Rimmel Gentle Eye Makeup Remover. It's super effective on any kind of eye makeup you use, even waterproof mascara and dark eyeliners. To finish off the day, swipe a cotton ball full of thee cool, refreshing SeaBreeze FreshClean Astringent all over your face to remove every trace of dirt, makeup, and oil. Cleaning your entire face a few times is the best way to have the best clean because there's oil and dirt all day on your skin. Don't forget to repeat daily and enjoy your results!

A Look At Alternatives To Drinking Coffee

Mind is All
Some reports will lead you to believe that coffee is not bad for you at all, while other reports will try to make it seem as though coffee is absolutely awful; while there is no definitive resolution on this issue, one thing that is true is the fact that caffeine turns glucose (that is, sugar) into fat - and what's more, the sugar and cream you probably add to your coffee will not do a whole lot for your figure either - and this reason alone (along with the fact that it is not great to be addicted to anything in the first place!) often leads people to look for alternatives to coffee.

One common alternative to coffee is tea, and while tea does have caffeine in it, the caffeine content is much lower - and what's more, you will probably not have to add sugar and cream to your tea in order to enjoy it; tea is also a powerful antioxidant - which means it will help your body to fight off diseases, and will help to lower your stress level and improve your quality of life as a whole.

Yerba Mate is another drink worth looking at - and while some people think of this as a "tea," it is actually derived from a shrub that grows in South America; this might sound as though it would be disgusting (and some certainly acknowledge that Yerba Mate is an acquired taste), but some people find that they truly enjoy the taste - and even more than that, they enjoy the benefits of drinking something that gives them energy without giving them too much caffeine.

And finally, realize that you can derive a lot of energy from drinking the juice of fruits and veggies; of course, you will want to make sure you are drinking only drinks made from 100% juice - and even these drinks will not give you the sort of kick you get from caffeine - but this is a healthy way to keep up your energy when you are trying to veer away from coffee.

It is not easy for everyone to move on from that coffee habit - but once you start finding good replacements for coffee, it will become a whole lot easier; and if you are looking for good replacements for coffee, these three options are worth looking into!

Should You Take Vitamin B-12 Shots?

You've heard some doctors at weight loss clinics are prescribing vitamin B-12 shots and supplements, but aren't sure if you need them? Do you need to take supplements, and are the shots truly of value?

We need vitamin B-12 for red blood cell production, a healthy nervous system, and to prevent anemia. It is also related to synthesis of DNA.

While weight loss clinics claim to have marvelous results from delivering B-12 shots and supplements, there is no hard scientific evidence to back this up. You probably aren’t B-12 deficient (a simple blood test can let you know if you are) and your body is going to store all the extra B-12 until you need it at a future date. While a vitamin B-12 shot may help you if you are truly anemic or deficient (which can be determined by a blood test), it will not improve your metabolism or make your more energetic if you are already getting enough vitamin B-12. Always get advice from a trusted doctor before you start taking vitamin B-12 shots or self-medicate with mega-doses of B-12, especially asking about the interactions of B-12 and medications.

You can get vitamin B-12 naturally by eating animal products. You don't need to worry at all if you eat meat, eggs, fortified products, dairy products, or shellfish. Vegans are the ones who run the highest risk of B-12 deficiency because they don't eat animal products of any kind. Fortified cereals also provide vitamin B-12, making them a good source for vegans.

If you get between 2.6-2.8 micrograms of vitamin B-12 a day, you're probably getting enough. You can get this much in a simple bowl of fortified cereal with a cup of milk. If you have a deficiency, you probably have a problem absorbing B-12 or using the B-12 that your body has already stored. This may happen if the intestinal wall is not absorbing B-12 or if there is a problem with the body releasing B-12 that was previously absorbed. It's uncommon to find B-12 deficiencies in Americans because of our typical diets (high in animal products) and because our bodies can store B-12 for years.
