Skin Care Advice for Teens
Mind is All
Have teens with acne in your household? Looking for skin care advice for that troubled skin? Use these skin care tips as guidelines for clear, clean complexions. Stay on top of your skin. Be sure to wash your face every morning and every night, but not more than that. More than washing twice a day will dry skin too much, making it vulnerable to flaking and cracking. Always use a mild cleanser, not soap. Follow with exfoliating scrub. Try this homemade scrub; put three uncoated aspirin in a bowl and add just enough water to soften it. Let it dissolve some and then use a spoon to crush it up. Mix in two tablespoons of organic honey. Mix and use as a scrub on T-zone, which is the nose, forehead, and chin. Rinse with warm water. Use moisturizer every morning and evening. Buy a moisturizer that has the ingredient salicylic acid in it; it'll fight breakouts. Don't be afraid of moisturizer; just buy an oil-free version. The bigger problem is when you don’t moisturize, because then your skin is thirsty and overproduces oil to compensate for the dryness. Don't use cream or liquid foundation on active breakouts. Use a light dusting of a mineral make up instead; it’ll soak up oil without clogging pore if you use it sparingly. When dealing with serious blackhead problems, visit an esthetician and pay for a professional extraction. Try not to bother blackheads at home, but if you must, wash your hands and face well and be very gentle. Try not to irreparably damage skin. It's worth it to prevent scarring or further infection; hire a professional, even if it's costly. Invest time in your skin care routine every day to keep it under control. Remember to care for your skin every day without fail.
Tips For Toning Your Muscles
If you have a desire to look great, but your idea of "looking great" has nothing to do with "having huge muscles," what you are probably looking for is a way by which you can tone your muscles and cause them to look lean and trim; this is not especially difficult to do, but as is the case with any form of "working out," you will want to make sure you know what you are doing in order to achieve your desired results. If you were looking to build muscle, you would want to work out with heavy weight, and would want to give each group of muscles a couple days of rest before you worked them out again; naturally, you will be looking to do the opposite if you are wanting to trim up your muscles - working out consistently, with light weight that allows you to do high reps. Another thing that will go a long way in helping you to trim up your muscles is for you to sporadically "shock" your muscles by flexing them; standing there and flexing your muscles might seem a bit silly, but when you do this, you will essentially be causing your body to do exactly what it does when you lift weights - and in such a way that your muscles will become tighter and leaner, giving you that look you desire. And when it comes to gaining lean, trim muscles, one of the most important things to realize is that your muscles will not look the way you want them to look - no matter how often you work out - if you fail to burn the fat that covers these muscles as well; train yourself to eat healthy, and to do workouts that burn fat, and it will be much easier for you to gain that look you are going for. It is not especially difficult to look the way you want to look; all you need is an understanding of what you should do, a bit of discipline, and a bit of patience, and you will find that you are starting to look the way you want to look!
Knowing The Signs Of Dehydration
Mind is AllDuring the summer, one of the biggest health risks you will be at is dehydration, but because many do not think of dehydration unless they are in extreme temperatures, they do nothing in an effort to prevent dehydration, and they also do nothing to make sure they are aware of the signs that indicate dehydration might be present. Regardless of whether you tend to spend a lot of time outside during the summer or not, it is still important for you to understand the signs of dehydration so that you can watch for them in your own body and in the bodies belonging to your children or other family members. Headache: Headaches can be caused by lots of different things (some of the causes of headaches are not even known yet!), but if you have a headache that feels as if it is starting behind the eyes, there is a very good chance that it is being caused by dehydration; when you have a headache (or when one of your children has a headache), make sure you know where the pain is located, as this will help you determine the cause. Fatigue: Of course, fatigue can frequently be caused by simply not getting enough sleep, or simply overexerting oneself, but if you have been getting the normal amount of sleep and have not been doing any intense physical exertion, you are probably suffering from dehydration! Dry mouth: A mouth that feels as if it is made of cotton is a late sign of dehydration; if you have not been getting enough water, your mouth will become dry and uncomfortable in an effort to implore you to drink some water! These signs usually do not begin to pop up until the dehydration has already set in, at which point it will take quite a bit of water to make the symptoms go away, which is one of the things that makes dehydration so tricky; the best bet, then, is for you to always make sure you are drinking enough water (at least a gallon a day!) on a regular basis – especially during the summer – in order to prevent dehydration from occurring!
How to Handle Insomnia Right Now
If you can't get to sleep and you have a big commitment the next day, you need solutions, and you need them now. You can't delay. What’s an insomniac to do? Try getting up and doing something for a bit. Much as you may want to lie there and hope you’re going to fall asleep, you’ll be better off if you actually get up, do something, and try going back to bed in a little bit. Think of going to sleep as landing a plane; you missed the run way the first time, so you need to circle around and try to bring it in for a landing nice and smooth this time. Your body has a window of time in which it is used to falling asleep; if you are off and miss that window, you may have to get up, do your bedtime routine again, and then try to fall asleep. Drink some warm milk. Many insomniacs find drinking warm milk really does help them fall asleep. If you don't like warm milk, brew up some decaffeinated tea; Valerian tea will make you drowsy, and Chamomile will relax you. Do something relaxing and boring. Dim the lights, and think of something that will make you get drowsy. Resist the temptation to watch movies, surf the web, or use electronics because the stimulation will prevent you from falling asleep. Instead try something like meditation, knitting, or reading a light magazine. Come up with a plan. If anxiety is at the root of your insomnia, try writing out a plan regarding the issue. Write long hand, and whatever you do, don’t send an email to anyone about the issue. When you're done, try going back to bed and see if you can fall asleep this time. Sweet dreams!

Diagnosing Chronic Fatigue Syndrome
Chronic Fatigue Syndrome affects roughly one million US adults, and it can be very disruptive to one's life. Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (commonly known as CFS) is largely described by its name, but it takes a bit more than this to diagnose CFS. You can use this handy guide to tell whether you might be suffereing from CFS if you have been unusually tired for reasons not related to lack of sleep or over-exertion. If you are consistently feeling tired or fatigued for no specific reason, this is one of the first signs of CFS. If you have CFS, this fatigue would be so extreme that it is reducing your activity levels. You should begin to look for additional signs of CFS if this is the case. Among these signs are the following: memory or concentration that is not what it used to be; sleep that does little to refresh you; muscle pain; new headaches, or headaches that are stronger than what you used to experience; recurring soar throat; pain in your joints. If a combination of these symptoms persist for an extended amount of time - around six months or longer - you should see a physician so they can test you for CFS. Because CFS is defined and diagnosed in a number of different ways, this diagnosis from a doctor will come by process of elimination. If you visit a physician and they are unable to find any other causes for your symptoms, you just might be classified as having CFS. While CFS has a number of "cures," none of them have been proven to work across the board. The instigating factors of the CFS and the severity of the CFS both come into consideration here. For instance, if you are deemed to be experiencing CFS as a result of depression, this might be solved by taking antidepressants. Furthermore, such simple adjustments as dietary adjustments and regular exercise can help to combat CFS. If you find that you have CFS, search for a doctor who has dealt with CFS patients before. Such a doctor will be better-equipped to help you with the nuances of this terrible affliction. If you find that you have been excessively tired lately for no explainable reason, your best bet is to cross your fingers and hope it goes away. If this does not work, you may have CFS, and you will want to get to work fighting it right away.
