Easy, Effective Stretching Exercises

Mind is All
Many people fail to realize that part of the reason why they wake up tired and groggy and ineffective each day is because of something that is really quite easy to fix. These people can start to solve their issues if they begin to stretch just a little bit each day! There is a widespread misconception that stretching is only necessary if you are about to exercise, or if you just finished exercising. But actually, stretching is important for every person, no matter what that person does in the course of a normal day. When you stretch, it helps your body stay looser, it helps you breathe better, and it helps your body circulate blood more effectively; all in all, stretching makes you a whole lot healthier!

You might think that stretching will take up too much of your time, or that it is impossible for you to stretch throughout the day. But the truth is, there are many stretches you can do quite easily, and you can do them in as little as ten or fifteen minutes each day.

If you are looking for an upper body stretch that is easy to do, and that you can do no matter where you are, try stretching your arms straight back behind you, about level with your shoulders; then, with your legs about shoulder-width apart, bend straight forward so that your torso is parallel over the ground. With this stretch, your arms, chest, and abdomen will all be significantly loosened.

If you wear office clothes during the day, leg stretches can be more difficult to fit in throughout the day, as the clothes can restrict you. Toe touches and butterfiles are great stretching exercises for your legs, as are lunges; you should try to do these either in the morning before you get dressed, or in the evening before you go to bed!

Your body will begin to improve remarkably when you get in the habit of stretching for ten or fifteen minutes each day.
