Picking A Multivitamin For Men

Any man who is going out looking for a multivitamin is likely to end up wondering why there are both so many options and so many different prices. Some people have a tendency to pick up the most expensive option, assuming that this must also be the best; others have a tendency to do the opposite - automatically picking up the least expensive option, assuming it probably works just as well as the other. And between these two extremes, the truth lands right about in the middle; furthermore, the truth is a bit more complicated.

One of these "complications" is the fact that most multivitamins for men include folic acid, but a 2008 study conducted by Harvard Medical School discovered a strong link between folic acid and colon cancer. Because of this, it is always best to look for multivitamins that contain no folic acid, unless you have been instructed by your doctor to do otherwise.

The thinking that the less expensive options do the job just as well as the more expensive options comes from the idea that vitamins are vitamins. And while this is true, you should also compare the number of vitamins and the amount of each vitamin included in the different options. While some multivitamins have just as many different vitamins as others, they contain a smaller amount of each vitamin per pill. And while some multivitamins capitalize on having high content when it comes to certain vitamins, they do not include many other vitamins.

Some of the best options to look at are Up and Up (which is Target's brand, and is an inexpensive option), Men's One a Day, and GNC Mega Man; all three of these options are high in the stuff you need, and they dissolve well when they get inside your body.

By taking good multivitamins, you can make sure that you get all the vitamins into your body that you need without having to do so by keeping track of all the foods you eat. This will keep you much healthier in the long run, for a very minimal cost!
