Tips For Preventing Carsickness
Mind is AllIf you or one of your children have a tendency to get carsick, you know what a nuisance it can be. After all, it can become practically impossible to take a road trip if you are dealing with carsickness, and even a trip to school or to the store can become a fiasco. Regardless of whether you tend to get carsick frequently or only every once in a while, these tips will help you to naturally chase carsickness away as soon as you feel it setting in. Fresh air: One of the best ways to make carsickness go away is to open the windows and get some air flowing in the car. Usually, you will find that carsickness disappears quickly once you simply roll down the windows. Focus faraway: If fresh air does not seem to be doing the trick, try turning your focus to a point that is far away. Lots of people end up making their carsickness a whole lot worse by putting down their head as soon as they start to feel sick. By focusing on a faraway point - especially if you add this to the fresh air - will often make you feel a lot better than before.
Food therapy: There are certain foods that will do nothing to help you feel better, other foods that will make you feel worse, and some foods that will improve your situation. A few things that will help carsickness - just as they would an upset stomach - are water and saltine crackers, and ginger ale. In addition to these, ginger snap cookies and ginger root capsules will do a lot to help a carsick stomach. Cool cloth: Try putting a cool, damp cloth over your forehead and even over your eyes if none of these other options work. If you or someone you are traveling with is prone to carsickness, consider keeping a cooler in your car - filled with ice, and with a cloth nearby. Carsickness can ruin a trip, but it does not have to; follow these tips, and chase carsickness away!
