How To Stay Healthy By Eating On A Schedule
Mind is AllWhen it comes to eating healthy, one of the most difficult things to do is to know exactly how much you should eat. Most people who try to eat healthy end up eating too little, thinking this is good for them, or they eat too much on the advice that we should "eat throughout the day." If you want to combat this, one of the best things you can do is put yourself on an eating schedule, with regimented meals and times of day. Even though it might seem counterintuitive, it is true that you should eat all throughout the day; of course, this means small meals throughout the day! Breakfast - as you have certainly heard people say before - is truly the most important meal of the day. Your metabolism will start working right away if you eat breakfast first thing in the morning, and if you eat throughout the day, your metabolism will continue to work.
For breakfast, you do not need a big meal so much as you need something that will get you and your metabolism going. But make sure you eat enough to hold you over until a mid-morning snack, as you should not eat for a few hours after breakfast. Make sure your mid-morning snack falls right in between breakfast and lunch; it should, of course, be something light and healthy. And when it comes time for lunch, you can provide yourself with a meal that is satisfying and filling; don't eat too much, however, as you should eat again a few hours later. Sometime in the middle of the afternoon - between lunch and dinner - you should plan to have another light snack. When it comes time for dinner (after work, or after you wrap up your day), you can have another full meal; but again, don't stuff yourself, as you may eat one more small snack a few hours later. You will find that your metabolism is working more efficiently, and that your body is much healthier, when you start to eat five to six small meals per day at certain times of day. As odd as it might seem, this "eating more often to stay slim and healthy" truly does work!
