Lose Weight By Changing What You Drink

Mind is All
You’ve tried everything, and yet you still can’t lose weight? You'll easily cut 100-250 calories out of your daily diet if you choose healthy beverages and eliminate the unhealthy. The accumulation of these small changes will result in weight loss over time.

Fall in love with water. Use a filter such as a Brita Filter to improve the taste of tap water. Try different brands of bottled waters (they really do vary in taste), and consider alkalized water, which has a unique taste. Add slices of lemon, lime, or cucumber to your water to add an unsweetened taste.

Cut sweeteners out of your hot beverages such as coffee or tea. Sugar is one of the biggest enemies of weight loss, being empty calories that leave you craving more. Gradually reduce the amount of sweetener you use. Because artificial sweeteners have recently been linked to weight loss problems (per medical studies), you will want to avoid these altogether. Focus on the end goal: enjoying your hot beverages without sweetener at all.

There are several teas and coffees that are good without any sweetener at all. For example, try Good Earth Original Blend tea, which is sweet and spicy, as well as flavored coffees. It will take a time of adjustment, but eventually you’ll get used to it.

Cut out soft drinks altogether. Sugar sodas are full of empty calories--about 140 calories worth in every can of soda. Diet sodas are linked to weight gain, to the mystery of most dietitians. Scientists speculate that this link between diet soda consumption and weight issues may be related to either metabolism issues or cravings. Try seltzer water if you miss the carbonation.

Reduce juice consumption. Many people think juice is healthy, when it's very high in sugar and calories. Even juice supplemented with artificial sweeteners is still high in calories, and you already know the artificial sweeteners are questionable in value. Limit juice consumption, treating it as you would a dessert.

By changing what you drink, you can cut calories and increase your overall wellness.
