What Exercises Can You Do When Pregnant?

It is important to exercise during pregnancy. Trying to stay fit during pregnancy is very important for not only your health but to burn any extra calories you may be eating. There are a number of things you can enjoy doing while pregnant.  You may not be climbing moutains but there are ways to stay fit. Speak to your doctor before starting any new exercise program.

The easiest one is just walking. You and your significant other can go for an evening walk together to enjoy some time together. You can walk right up to the day you deliver as long as you pace yourself and listen to your body.

Although it may sound strange, swimming is a good option for you. The water helps to take the weight off of your back and joints.  The last trimester of pregnancy can make being in the water feel a little strange.  You may feel you are having a harder time taking a breath or your belly isn't sitting where it normally does. Feel free to grab a kick board or an aqua jog belt if you feel your buoyancy is off.

If you want a more stretching type of work out, you may want to consider yoga. You can try to find yoga classes that are specifically for yoga during pregnancy. This will allow you to be in a class were modifications are done to stretches to keep you safe. Yoga can help relax you while keeping you limber.

Light weight lifting during pregnancy is a great way to stay toned and strong. Finding a fitness trainer who is familiar with pregnancy and weight lifting would clearly be the best choice for you. Think more repetitions not more weight when you are pregnant and weightlifting.  You should only be lifting light weights during your workout.

Women's bodies have to put up with a lot when pregnant. Staying fit can be a great health benefit to you while pregnant. This will help you during labor and also post pregnancy. Basically just take it nice and easy and you can exercise all the way up to your baby being in your arms.
