Picking A Multivitamin For Men

Mind is All
If you are a man, and you are looking to start taking a multivitamin, you may be wondering why there are not only so many options, but are also such a great range of prices. Some people have a tendency to pick up the most expensive option, assuming that this must also be the best; others have a tendency to do the opposite - automatically picking up the least expensive option, assuming it probably works just as well as the other. And when it comes to these two extremes, the truth is actually right in the middle; also, the truth is a bit more complicated!

As far as these "complications" go, one of the main things to realize is that a 2008 study conducted by Harvard showed a strong link between folic acid and colon cancer - and most men's multivitamins include folic acid. Because of this, it is always best to look for multivitamins that contain no folic acid, unless you have been instructed by your doctor to do otherwise.

As for the idea that the less expensive multivitamins probably do just as well as the more expensive ones: this comes from thinking that says "vitamins are vitamins." And while it is true that vitamins are vitamins, you need to make sure you look at which vitamins a multivitamin includes, and also look at how much there is of each vitamin. While some multivitamins have a great variety of vitamins in them, they do not have a high amount of any of these vitamins. And while some multivitamins capitalize on having high content when it comes to certain vitamins, they do not include many other vitamins.

When you are shopping for multivitamins, three good options to look at are Up and Up (which is Target's brand, and is an inexpensive option), Men's One a Day, and GNC Mega Man - all three of which contain lots of the vitamins you need each day, and all three of which dissolve well upon entering your body.

When you take good multivitamins, you will ensure that your body is getting all the vitamins it needs - without needing to make sure you get it all through the things you eat. In the long run, this will keep you significantly more healthy - for a very minimal cost!
