Picking A Men's Multivitamin

Any man who is going out looking for a multivitamin is likely to end up wondering why there are both so many options and so many different prices. Some people pick up the least expensive option when it comes to multivitamins, assuming it probably does not matter; other people do the opposite, picking up the most expensive option and thinking that this one is automatically the best one. And when it comes to these two extremes, the truth is actually right in the middle; also, the truth is a bit more complicated!

For one thing, as far as complications go, many multivitamins for men include folic acid, but a study conducted by Harvard in 2008 showed a link between folic acid and colon cancer. Because of this, it is always best to look for multivitamins that contain no folic acid, unless you have been instructed by your doctor to do otherwise.

As for the idea that the less expensive multivitamins probably do just as well as the more expensive ones: this comes from thinking that says "vitamins are vitamins." And while it is true that vitamins are vitamins, you need to make sure you look at which vitamins a multivitamin includes, and also look at how much there is of each vitamin. While some multivitamins have a great variety of vitamins in them, they do not have a high amount of any of these vitamins. And while some have a high content when it comes to some vitamins, it gives you hardly any of another vitamin.

When you are shopping for multivitamins, three good options to look at are Up and Up (which is Target's brand, and is an inexpensive option), Men's One a Day, and GNC Mega Man - all three of which contain lots of the vitamins you need each day, and all three of which dissolve well upon entering your body.

When you take good multivitamins, you will ensure that your body is getting all the vitamins it needs - without needing to make sure you get it all through the things you eat. This will keep you much healthier in the long run, for a very minimal cost!
