Stay Fit With Indoor Rock Climbing

Mind is All
There are a lot of different ways to stay healthy and fit, but when it comes right down to it, a lot of these ways are really quite dull! After all, there is only so many times you can run on a treadmill or walk around your neighborhood without looking for something new. One of the great ways to stay in shape is by rock climbing, and with the emergence of indoor rock climbing facilities, it has never been safer or easier!

Rock climbing uses all of your upper body muscles and also causes you to use your legs a significant amount, making it one of the best full-body workouts. And although rock climbing can be dangerous when done outdoors - esepcially when done without a harness or any serious padding beneath you - it can be a very safe activity at indoor rock climbing gyms.

In order to climb at most indoor rock climbing gym, you need to take a "top rope" proficiency course, which will teach you how to belay (which means adding friction to the rope that your climbing partner is using, which keeps them from falling far if they slip off the wall) for your partner. The costs of indoor climbing are pretty minimal once you have the basics down, as most of these places allow you to climb whenever you want once you have paid a small monthly fee.

You will also want to invest in some good climbing shoes and a chalk pouch if you begin to climb regularly. On Amazon, you can find good climbing shoes for really reasonable prices, and you can easily find chalk pouches for as little as $10. As for climbing clothes, you can probably find everything you need right there in your closet, as you just need an old shirt and some sturdy pants or shorts.

Once you get the hang of rock climbing, it can be as easy or as challenging as you choose for it to be! And best of all, indoor rock climbing gives you a true full-body workout that is fun and adventurous without being dangerous at all!
