Cooking Fish
Mind is AllCooking fish can be intimidating for the first time, especially if you are unsure on types of fish to even get. The great news is that fish is not only delicious but very easy to cook. You can easily cook fish with minimal cooking tools and ingredients. Tilapia makes a great fish for a beginner. Getting flash frozen tilapia is very easy. One of the easiest ways to cook fish is to pan fry them. A good quality stainless steel pan is a must have. Start by thawing the fish over night in the refridgerator. Rinse your filet off and pat dry. Take a quarter cup of flour and put it into shallow bowl along with a tsp of pepper and 2 tsp salt. Stir the flour mixture. Place the fish into the flour mixture and coat both sides of the fish. After you have both sides coated shake off the excess flower from the fish. Heat pan and about a quarter cup of coconut oil until hot. Once the oil is hot add your fish filet. Cook each side for 2 and a half minutes. The fish will be done when the flour coating is crispy, and the fish flakes easily with a fork. Baking is another great way to prepare fish. Start with your oven preheated at 350 degrees. Put your thawed tilapia filet into an oven safe container along with a tablespoon of butter. You can then sprinkle some dill weed, pepper, and salt on the fish. You can even cut a lemon into rounds and place it on top of the fish. Cook in the oven for 20 minutes. You know it is done cooking when it easily flakes apart with a fork. If the fish is not done put back into oven for another five minutes and check again. These are two simple ways to cook fish but there are so many options at your fingertips. Fish: The Complete Guide to Buying and Cooking, is one of many books out there on how to cook fish. Don't feel intimidated when cooking fish, it can be done quite easily.
