Meditation and Stress Relief
Mind is All
Are you stressed out, but don't know if you can fit meditation into your already-packed life schedule? If you’re living a stressful life and wonder how you could better manage your stress, a daily meditation practice would do you wonders. If you establish a regular meditation practice, you will inherently learn coping skills that apply to stress management. By meditating, you're learning how to deal with physical distractions and discomfort, training your body and mind to obey you, even when under duress. If you practice regularly enough, paying attention to your body’s sensations and feelings, you will learn how to resist the fight or flight adrenaline rush that comes with stressful situations. When you meditate, you process through existing stress. Your daily meditation session will flush your system of excess stress, keeping you free to handle your daily new obstacles with a fresh attitude. You’ll learn how to maintain perspective and find solutions. You’ll come to work more peaceful, having processed and let go of the stress from the day prior. Meditation prepares you to sleep better. If you sleep better, you will start each day more prepared to handle your day. Meditation enhances your quality of life. Because you'll be calm and positive, you'll handle anxiety from your friends, family, and coworkers with more grace and finesse. When people are stressed, they don't handle additional stress well, meaning the situation can easily compound. Try using the loving kindness meditation practices or the acceptance mantras to establish a counternance that promotes peaceful interactions. Meditation is one of those skills that will repay you over and over and over. If you establish a practice, you could be a completely different person.
