Trustworthy Weight Loss Principles

If you've been trying to lose weight by trying fad diets, you'll want to learn about the weight loss principles that have been proven effective. Don't give up. You'll lose those unwanted pounds if you follow these tips: Monitor your caloric consumption. Yes, there are a zillion fad diets out there that will tell that if you only eat this or that, you won’t have to count calories, but that just isn’t true. Reliable, current studies prove that calorie intake, as measured as calories you ate, adjusted by the number of calories you spent by exercising, determines weight loss success or failure.

Work out five days a week or more. Exercise builds muscle, and muscle burns calories all day and night. Don't work out too hard or you'll lack motivation to stick with your exercise plan. Change up your routine so that you challenge various muscle groups, thereby enhancing your overall body.

Stay hydrated by drinking water. Not only will water make you feel full, it’ll also flush fat out of your body and help you feel energetic enough to exercise. Plus you’ll find yourself drinking fewer calorie-laden beverages since you won’t be thirsty.

Change your eating habits. Read up on what foods are best for your body and gradually make small changes to your diet. Make changes incrementally, switching out healthy foods for unhealthy foods, bit by bit. As you make dietary changes, you'll discover new foods you enjoy that are better for you.

Don't be afraid to ask for help. Find someone or some organization that will help you stay motivated and committed to your weight loss efforts. Weight loss efforts are most successful when attempted in tandem with a friend or organization that is as committed or more committed than you are.

If you commit yourself to these proven weight loss principles, you'll lose weight over time and be able to keep it off, too.
